The Mountain Radio EU is legal to operate in any country that allows for PMR446 as the license-free standard. This includes all countries in the European Union, along with the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Singapore, India, and Vietnam. 

Some basic guidelines for PMR446 radios are:

• License-free
• 16 allowed frequencies (446.00625 ~ 446.19375)
• Maximum of 0.5 watts of power
